Method

  2. In a large mixing bowl, fold the prepared vanilla pudding into the whipped cream until well combined and smooth, creating a light, fluffy mixture.
  3. Add the cookie crumbs to the pudding and whipped cream mixture, gently folding them together until evenly coated and textured like damp soil.
  4. Spread half of the crumb mixture evenly into your serving dish or trifle bowl, creating a crumbly base that looks like dirt.
  5. Evenly distribute the remaining crumb mixture over the first layer, smoothing the top with a spatula for a tidy finish.
  6. Decorate the top with gummy worms, pressing some partially into the
    12 oz chocolate sandwich cookies
  7. Insert the assembled dirt cake into the refrigerator and chill for at least 10 minutes to set and meld the flavors.
  8. Once chilled, identify the gummy worms that are burrowing into the
    12 oz chocolate sandwich cookies
  9. Serve the dirt cake chilled, allowing everyone to dig in and enjoy the playful, crusty soil-like texture with the surprise of squishy gummy worms.
